Agritourism is more! This was the theme of the 2nd World Agritourism Congress that was held from the 16th to the 18th of May 2023 in the agritourism city of Bolzano, Italy. Organised by the Global Agritourism Network (GAN), in collaboration with Eurac Research, the conference attracted more than 200 participants from over 40 countries across the globe.

　　Among the participants was Dr. Oliver Chikuta, the Program Director for the Modul Dual Degree Program at Nanjing Tech University Pujiang Institute. Dr. Chikuta presented a paper titled “Revisiting the Symbiotic Relationship between Public and Private Sectors in Fostering Sustainable Agritourism: Insights from Zimbabwe”. The objectives of the study were; (i) to identify the key stakeholders and their roles in sustainable agritourism development, (ii) to investigate the extent to which these stakeholders are working together and (iii) to provide guidelines for creating a symbiotic relationship among key stakeholders for sustainable agritourism development in Zimbabwe.

　　Agritourism involves travelling to a working farm to experience, learn and enjoy the farming environment (Chase et al., 2021). Agritourism activities include farm tours, you-pick, educational tours, cooking classes, farm stay accommodation, farm-to-table meals, among others. Agritourism has become a viable secondary source of revenue for farmers and a sustainable means for rural development in many countries. Dr. Chikuta is planning to extend his scope by researching on agritourism in China.
